Chandelier-Possibly

Cabaret Automagically™ · 2026

Artwork for Chandelier-Possibly
She haunted haunted shops for a chandelier-possibly
To tether in a study, she kept so self-consciously
Roomba-swept and well appointed
She's filthy rich and double jointed
With a fallera up-do and a pussy-bow blouse
She could entertain royalty in a slaughterhouse
There's a counterfeit stack in her grandmother's suitcase
Locked in a panic room behind the bookcase
She'll grab a few Franklins and ever-so-cautiously
Pay an honest boy to dust her chandelier-possibly
The aesthetic? Kinetic - and also quite plausibly
Based on its etchings, an answer to prophecy
Look, but don't touch has always been her policy
Except when your trapped under her chandelier-possibly

About the Song

My friends and I were watching the 2016 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony and when the two-ton kinetic sculpture appeared, a host described it as a “chandelier possibly”. We all fell out laughing and coined it as a new décor term…like, dumb waiter, tall boy, murphy bed, lazy susan and what not. It doesn’t take much to get us going. The next day I sent a voice message to the group chat singing “Chandelier-Possibly”. It did not sound like this version. I can’t sing or write music (Ergo, A.I.). A couple of us still sing it at parties now and then.

Fallera Up-Do: traditional, iconic hairstyle worn during Las Fallas festival in Valencia, Spain.

Pussy Bow Blouse: a top featuring long, soft fabric ties at the neckline that can be tied into a structured bow. Originally called a lavallière or lavaliere shirt in 19th-century France (named after the Duchess of La Vallière), the design later earned the term "pussy bow" in 1930s dress patterns because the tie resembled a ribbon around a pet cat's neck. Also referred to as a Thatcher Blouse for being notably worn by that demonic UK Prime Minister.
